March Equinox
The March Equinox, also known as the vernal equinox, happens on March 20, 2021 starting off the spring season in the Northern Hemisphere and the autumn season in the Southern Hemisphere.
In the Northern Hemisphere this equinox brings earlier sunrises, later sunsets, and sprouting plants, while in the Southern Hemisphere it brings the opposite, later sunrises, earlier sunsets and colder temperatures.
The Latin term Equinox means “equal night” and vernal means spring. This is the day when all of earth experiences 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness. This is a sacred day, illustrating the struggle between light and darkness, death and life, and the journey one must take inward to find the right balance. The Equinox signifies the beginning of the astrological calendar with Aires being the first sign.
The Spring Equinox indicates a period of fresh beginnings and new life and is a powerful time to connect with nature. This is an ideal time to plan new gardens or begin the clean-up of past harvests.
Try smudging your home with Sage, Rosemary, Lavender, Palo Santo or other Organic herbs to clear your space of negative lower winter vibes and remember to open the windows to bring in the new fresh spring air.
Get outside and start grounding yourself to Mother Earth by putting your bare feet onto the ground for a few minutes each day. Try turning the heat down in your home, opening the windows and allowing your body temperature to become acclimated to the spring temperatures.
Make a “New Beginnings Crystal Grid” for successful new ventures. Use 6 pieces of quartz around the outside in the shape of the sun with the center piece being a found natural object. Place six agates or any crystals you may have on the inside of the sun shape and connect all to the natural center piece with found items such as twigs, rocks, leaves and branches. (The overall grid should be in the shape of a circle to represent the sun, with the natural element in the middle.) Write down your intentions and place under the center piece. This “New Beginnings Crystal Grid” will bring positive vibes to any venture started during this incredibly important Equinox and remind you to stay on track to meet your goals and desires.
